Dear Andy and Anne.

     I believe right now you may be seeing on CNN some of the events we are living at present. A security guard at our Oblate Provincial residence in Port au Prince was hit by a stray bullet yesterday. No further details available. 3 weeks ago, Bishop Pierre Andre Dumas's residence was hit with a Molotov Cocktail and is at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in FL with 45% of his body burnt. We are going through a living HELL right now. Gangs have taken over everything. Yesterday Gangs liberated almost 4.000 prisoners from 2 National prisons.  6 Sacred Heart Brothers were kidnapped last week and no news of whereabouts. Yesterday US and French embassies have ordered ALL their citizens to leave the country immediately. I don't know how they would leave because all commercial flights to Port au Prince have been suspended.

     For the time being there is a very TENSE CALM here in Gonaives. However, I would like to ask you and the Parish to continue keeping us in prayer as we are having a very difficult time right now. Thanks Again.  LOVE and GOD BLESS
