Sessions are Sundays 9:15am - 10:15am and Mondays 4:30 - 5:30pm at St. Mary campus. Please email Darleen Farland at [email protected] to register. Open for children ages 3 - 5.
Our Lady of Hope is continuing to expand this program for the next phase of your child's faith development. The children really love their time in their Atrium! Now that our teachers have completed part 2 of their training, they are ready to bring in more items for the children to work with.
We have Donation Cards displayed in the gathering space with some of the items needed for the Atrium. It works just like the giving tree. If you would like to donate an item, simply take the card with that item, purchase or provide a donation for it, and return it to St. Mary’s Church with the card attached and your name and address on it, so the children can say thank you. We would like to have all the items or donations returned to St. Mary’s by November 20th.
Anyone interested in assisting in the Atrium or registering your child should see Pamela Cross or Darleen Farland and let us know. Our Atrium classes meet either Sundays from 9:15-10:15 a.m. or Mondays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at St. Mary campus.
Originated in 1954 by Sofia Cavalletti, a biblical scholar, and Gianna Gobbi, an educator of children and teachers, Level 1 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd helps the young child ages 3-5 (and their catechists) enter into a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus.
It seeks to create a sacred space for children called the Atrium, in which both the children and their catechists can hear, ponder and celebrate the most essential mysteries of our Catholic faith as revealed in Scriptures and the Liturgy. This leads little children, and quite often their entire families, to come to a deep appreciation for the sacraments and above all, the Eucharist.
