There’s something for everyone at Our Lady of Hope, so check out the opportunities we have and share your musical talent with your parish family! See below for some of the opportunities for joining our Music Ministry. We have year-round choirs and opportunities to join short-term for Christmas, Holy Week or special masses or events.

I began my music ministry at the age of four when I started singing in the children’s choir at our church. This began a life-long love of music and the peace and joy to be found in praise and worship. My sisters and I would sing our church songs at home, bringing a little bit of prayer into our everyday lives. Singing as part of a choir at church, not only builds confidence and develops good singing skills, but also deepens the faith of the child, as we talk about what the words in the songs mean, and how much God loves us. Music children can relate to, and easily sing, helps make the celebration of mass special for them, and supports a feeling of being welcomed and belonging to their parish family.
We now have Children’s Choir back at our new parish, and I am so excited to be working once again with children. I have my degree in Music Education, grades K-12, so I have lots of great ways to teach singing technique. We also learn about different rhythm instruments and how to play them while we sing – the children really enjoy this! We meet on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s on weeks when there are religious education classes.
It is my hope that people from all three campuses join in our Music Ministry! We rehearse every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s to prepare for the 10:30 mass there. Teens and adults are most welcome! Or just join in for Christmas or Easter! There will be special masses for teens next year, so we will also have some opportunities for teens to participate in music ministry. I’m so looking forward to sharing music, faith, and fellowship with all of you!
Blessings,
Pam Cross
