Deacon Timothy G. Cross lives in Lancaster and grew up in Billerica, MA. He and his wife Pamela, the music director for Our Lady of Hope, have three grown children and three grandchildren. Deacon Tim, son of the late Gerald Cross and Carol Brown, and step-son of the late Melville Brown, graduated from Billerica Memorial High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army as a Russian linguist and intelligence analyst and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern Maine in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1996. Deacon Tim practiced law in Boston with the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart and subsequently in Providence, RI at the firm of Brown Rudnick, before joining Legacy Publishing Group, Inc., the greeting card, calendar, and stationery gift business he owns along with his wife, her two siblings and their husbands. Mr. Cross is President and Chief Operating/Legal Officer of the company.
After ordination to the permanent diaconate in 2012 Deacon Tim was assigned to Our Lady of the Lake parish in Leominster, MA where he helped run the parish’s youth ministry program, organized an annual winter coat drive, served in the parish’s Brown Bag Meals Ministry, and was a member of the RCIA team, along with his liturgical duties at Masses. In 2016, Deacon Tim transferred to St. Mary’s parish in Jefferson where he served in a full-time capacity as the pastoral assistant and deacon for three years until he joined his wife here at Our Lady of Hope parish in September, 2019. Among the ministries Deacon Tim is involved with at Our Lady of Hope are religious education, RCIA, Small Group scripture study, and training of new lectors and altar server.
