MARCH 5th - APRIL 13th * Prayer & Fasting * Community Outreach * Public Vigil *
Lent begins in two weeks as does the 40 Days for Life 2025 Spring Campaign which runs from Ash Wednesday until Palm Sunday. Once again, we have an opportunity to show our community, through peaceful vigil and prayer, that the murder of unborn human life is not acceptable in a civil society and that abortion is not healthcare but it is an abomination to our Creator.
“This is not a debate about sectarian religious doctrine or about policy options. This is a debate about our understanding of human dignity, what does it mean to be human? Our moment in history is marked by a mortal conflict between a culture of death and a culture of life, and today, here and now, we must choose sides.” -- The late Congressman Henry Hyde
These 40 days of public support for the sanctity of life will again take place on the sidewalk across from Planned Parenthood at 470 Pleasant Street in Worcester, daily from 7:00am - 7:00pm. You can schedule your vigil times by going to 40daysforlife.com/worcester.
We have handheld signs ("You Don't Have To Do This Today," "Pregnant? We Can Help," and "You Don't Have To Work Here") available for you to use on the sidewalk as well as bulletin inserts for your parish and pamphlets explaining the "Abortion Pill" and the 40 Days for Life Campaign (in English & Spanish).
We are suggesting that you contact your Pastor and ask him to choose one hour to come out to the sidewalk to lead his parishioners in public prayer. Having our Religious Leaders join us on the sidewalk in peaceful vigil is very powerful - not only to his parishioners but also to those witnesses driving down Pleasant Street or walking down the sidewalk.
Please consider encouraging your parish to join several of the local parishes who sign up to cover a 6 or 12 hour shift. It is wonderful to have a parish provide two or three participants per hour for half of a day or a full 12 hour shift. We have 480 hours of vigil time to cover during this Campaign! We try not to leave a single hour without someone on the sidewalk - we never know who our Lord will send past for a positive, life-changing message.
For those of you who are unable to join in public prayer and witness on the sidewalk, please consider scheduling a prayerful gathering in your church or home. We can provide you with prayers and materials.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. We look forward to meeting many of you on the sidewalk as we witness to the sanctity of life!

Radical Solidarity
In the Gospel of John, shortly before he is to suffer his Passion, Jesus proclaims to his disciples, "I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another." (John 13:34). And it is love for one another that Jesus says will be the identifying characteristic of his disciples.
